Decomposed body discovered in empty Juarez lot as murders top 130 for March


JUAREZ, Mexico (KTSM) — The month of March to date is the most violent of 2020 in Juarez, as murders continue to rise.

On Tuesday, residents in Colonia Polo Gamboa in South Juarez discovered a decomposed body in an empty lot. Juarez municipal police believe the body had been there for months before neighbors discovered it.

Authorities believe the person was a man, but are awaiting an autopsy to confirm.

With six days left in the month of March, Juarez has already tallied 131 murders. There were 115 in February and 120 in January.
