RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas — Border authorities said a Honduran mother and her toddler died while trying to cross the Rio Grande near Brownsville.
The Honduran government identified the victims as 26-year-old Idalia Yamileth Herrera-Hernandez and her 21-month-old son Iker Gael Cordova-Herrera.
