ICE: Detainee escapes while being treated at South Texas hospital

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) — An immigration detainee remains on the loose after escaping while receiving medical treatment in Harlingen, Texas.

The Harlingen Police Department and Immigration and Customs Enforcement are looking for Wilson Perez-Reyes, who disappeared while being treated at Valley Baptist Medical Center.

He was last seen about 2:30 near the DaVita dialysis center behind the hospital, police said.

Perez-Reyes was wearing a navy-blue uniform similar to medical scrubs with “PIDC” written on the back of the shirt and down the pant leg. It is possible that he may be wearing blue pants with a white T-shirt.

Anyone who sees Perez-Reyes should contact 911 or the Port Isabel Detention Center at (956) 547-1700.
