WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar, D-Texas, won reelection in Texas’ 16th Congressional District, which covers the majority of El Paso County in Far West Texas.
Escobar will serve a third term. She defeated Republican Irene Amernadriz-Jackson, who challenged and lost to Escobar in 2020.
On Tuesday, Escobar got 63 percent of the vote.
Escobar was the El Paso county judge from 2011 until 2017.
