RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas — A man is behind bars after he allegedly refused to leave the secured parking lot of a South Texas Border Patrol station.
Border Patrol agents encountered 35-year-old Orlando Martinez on Wednesday in the parking lot of the Rio Grande City station, officials said.
When agents realized that Martinez was not authorized to be there, he allegedly returned to his vehicle and locked himself inside.
The Starr County Sheriff’s Office responded and took Martinez in custody. He was charged with criminal trespass, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a dangerous drug. The type of drug was not specified.
His bond was not specified.
Rio Grande City is about 40 miles west of McAllen.
