43 undocumented immigrants found in South Texas stash house, CBP says

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) — Authorities in South Texas uncovered a stash house where 43 undocumented immigrants were being held Saturday in Laredo, Texas.

Webb County Sheriff’s deputies learned about a possible stash several blocks from the U.S.-Mexico border. Border Patrol agents, sheriff’s deputies and agents with Homeland Security Investigations then conducted surveillance on the residence as part of a joint enforcement action.

Following a “knock and talk,” authorities found 43 individuals and several weapons inside the home. Officials said the group included people Guatemala, Ecuador, Mexico, and Honduras who were in the U.S. illegally. They were all were found to be in good health and were arrested pending investigation.

The case was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
