Salvador has been covering news and happenings along the California/Mexico border and throughout Latin American for the better part of 30 years. Most of his time in journalism has been in the San Diego market, although he’s also worked in Fresno, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Along the way, Salvador has been assigned to cover events such as Hurricane Katrina, Super Bowls, World Series and political elections on both sides of the border. He has interacted with presidents, world-renowned entertainment figures, athletes and people from all walks of life and socioeconomic backgrounds. Salvador has been awarded six Emmys, several Press Club awards and has been part of a team presented with the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award. Salvador has been inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Silver Circle for 25 years of excellence in Journalism. Salvador is a graduate of San Diego State University’s School of Journalism. He resides and is based in San Diego.
